To The Bone
As a self-taught artist—and someone who doesn't naturally gravitate toward landscapes—this mural was a welcome challenge.
The piece evolved quite a bit throughout the process, especially as we adjusted for sight lines and composition to suit the setting: the so-called “Irish Riviera” just south of Boston.
In the end, the director and I agreed on a more general, impressionistic harbor scene rather than a literal rendering of that coastline. The result struck a balance between mood and setting, and I’m proud to say the team was thrilled with the final piece.
It pushed me outside my comfort zone—and left me with a deeper appreciation for how space, style, and storytelling intersect.
